8th Grade Learning Outcomes
Students will develop an ability to perceive and respond to ideas and understand visual arts in historical, cultural and social contexts. By focusing on the principles and elements of design they will produce works of art which reflect knowledge, skills, and creativitiy.

Elements of design:   
line, shape, space, form, texture, value and color
 
Principles of design:   
movement, unity, balance, contrast, proportion, emphasis, variety, pattern and rhythm
